Optim zOS: Support for IMS DB (Insert) where segments have exit routines with DB2 statements

Opitm zOS - We have IMS DBs of which some segments have exit routines that have DB2 statements - Purpose of these exit routines is to keep IMS segment data in sync with DB2 tables (when a Insert / Update / Delete happens on a record in the IMS segment exit routine kicks in which have DB2 statements that replicate changes to the corresponding DB2 tables). When we run Optim Insert process into these IMS segments, the Optim insert process failing. When we submitted support ticket, we got update saying .. IMS trying to open another connection to DB2 (to execute DB2 statements in the exit routines) where in Optim already established a connection to DB2 (because Optim Zos is installed on DB2 zOS). As DB2 don't support multiple DB2 connections within same unit of work, the process is failing. As we have many IMS DBs that fall under this scenario, it would be great if Optim tool supports this situation.

    Hi Peter, Its long time we submitted this request. So, just want to check for any updates on taking up this requirement for implementation?

    Hi, Product Management will review this requirement with Development for consideration in a future release. This is the first time I have personally seen this requirement, so at present the demand seems low compared to other requirements. But it also seems like a valid and useful enhancement. Next, we need a development sizing, to understand the cost / benefit tradeoff.
