This is an enhancement request for OPTIM TDM for z/OS (FMID HAEYB70).
OPTIM TDM/DP currently allows users to inform only one image-copy dataset (taken in another DB2 subsystem) in the process of extracting and converting data. In our environment we use one table per tablespace, and OPTIM extract process will use HPU because we need to process image-copies. These image-copies were taken in another DB2 subsystem, which requires the use of OBID translation. OPTIM TDM/DP interface with HPU currently does not allow that. To bypass that we have to run an additional unload (HPU) step reading these image-copies (using HPU "ORIGINOBID 0" option), generating unload datasets that will be used as input by OPTIM TDM/DP extract/convert. We request the following change to OPTIM TDM/DP product:
- OPTIM TDM/DP interface with HPU must allow the use of multiple image-copy datasets, as well as the use of ORIGINOBID option.
- The extract/convert job must contain all processes, even if in separate steps.
- We suggest that the generated extract/convert job should contain something like this:
...
//PSDFOVRD DD *
UNL_OBID SAFRAH2.TGEN529 0
UNL_OBID SAFRAH2.TGEN542 0
UNL_OBID SAFRAH2.TGEN586 0
...
