Consistent/Dependent Masking Across Related Columns in IBM Optim Data Privacy

IBM Optim Data Privacy currently applies masking policies independently at the column level, which can result in inconsistent data when multiple columns have a logical relationship.

For example, if the source data contains:

First Name: ARAVIND | Last Name: KUMAR | Full Name: ARAVIND KUMAR

independent masking may produce:

First Name: Danyelle | Last Name: Sazama | Full Name: Jeffrey Kolman

The masked values are valid individually, but the relationship between the columns is lost.

We request a dependent/consistent masking capability that allows related columns to be masked while preserving their logical relationship. For example:

ARAVIND | KUMAR | ARAVIND KUMAR

Jeffrey | Kolman | Jeffrey Kolman

The capability should allow customers to define related columns as a logical masking group and reuse masked values across dependent or derived columns.

This would help maintain data integrity and usability of masked test data while reducing the need for custom scripts or post-processing. IBM Support has confirmed that this functionality is currently unavailable and recommended raising it as an enhancement request.
