Background
MariaDB is a widely adopted open-source relational database that our organization currently uses across multiple application development environments. As we advance our data archival strategy, it is essential that our tooling aligns with the databases actively in use within our ecosystem.

Idea / Proposal
Enable MariaDB as an officially supported source database within the Optim Next Generation tool to facilitate seamless data archival from MariaDB-based applications.

Business Justification

  • MariaDB is already embedded in our organization's application landscape, making it a critical data source for archival.

  • Without native MariaDB support in Optim Next Generation, archival coverage remains incomplete, creating gaps in data lifecycle management.

  • Enabling this support would streamline archival operations, reduce manual workarounds, and ensure compliance with data retention policies.
