Searching for widget properties in PAW

We could probably debate forever about what properties of a widget belong in which category but, for example.

Under Visualization , Column and Row Headers we have options to do with the format of the headers.

Under Custom, Table Style, we have hide Column and Row Headers.

The problem with the categories for the properties is that they are all bit arbitrary, they might make sense if you are super familiar with the object model under the hood, but how does Visualization and Custom imply a set of properties that belong together and are different from each other? On the other hand I get that you need to categorise them some how.

If you look at it from the end uses PoV how would I know that Show / Hide headers is under "Custom" rather than Visualisation, other than remembering? Add into this that a lot of the options are rolled up on first use, you end up have to click around alot looking for stuff. Can be a frustrating experience.

So in the properties tab can we have some kind of filter / search tab that would pull back all the properties related to a specific object? So if I type column I get all the column header related properties. The search would maybe need to be on some kind of background tag rather than the description of the property.

Taking this idea even further if the PAW developer had control of tag setting then I could tag a bunch of properties "My Favourites for Bar Charts" and easily jump to the ten things I need to twiddle for a bar chart.

We have updated the status to Future consideration. Although we are not currently planned on adding a search functionality on the properties panel, we are working to improve the layout of properties to make Workspace more intuitive for new book authors. In Q1 2023 we are working on grouping the formatting features for the cube viewer (bringing all formatting options into a single UX).
