PAW - Users & Groups Configuration

Problem: We don't manage our users and groups from the section under Users and Groups in the Administration panel in PAW automatically.

We know that the Users tab is filled automatically when the users log in and there is no need for manual management of it. In the group tab, we want to provide the relevant configuration with Active Directory or LDAP. Also, we want to the groups in our systems to automatically come to the group tab under the Administration panel in PAW. After this configuration, we don't want to do user - group matching. We expect users in groups that come with Active Directory or LDAP to come automatically linked to each other in the group tab.

This idea is not under consideration. LDAP configuration with Planning Analytics on premise is supported only by connecting a TM1 database to the LDAP server and importing users and groups from the LDAP system into the TM1 database. The TM1 database can then be used as an authentication source. We are not planning on adding direct support for LDAP connections from Workspace.

For modern Planning Analytics offerings (e.g Planning Analytics SaaS) we will consider additional support for federation of both users and groups with group memberships in Workspace being updated based on group membership in the underlying user management system.
