A better overview of users and groups in PAW

Regarding “corporate usability” there should be a better overview of users and groups in PAW. Currently it is hard to keep track if you have hundreds of users. E.g., there is no way to find users without groups.

I've changed the status of this enhancement to 'Not under consideration'. The Planning Analytics Administration interface already allows you to set groups for a user, and users for each group. It's also possible to modify the role of multiple users at the same time. The user management interface supports multiple selections for bulk changes.

As already mentioned it's possible to export the user and groups, make changes, and import the changes. This can also be automated with existing API endpoints.

It's intentional that we do not support user manager of multiple environments at the same time. This is because a user can be an Administrator in one environment, but another role (e.g modeler, analysts, consumer) in another environment.

An overview is missing, as you have it e.g. in }ClientGroups on TM1 database side, i.e. a flat table of the users an the groups they belong to. This means a combination of users and groups.

This would also open up new possiblities to e.g. filter users/groups and find users without a group membership.

If you want to have that, you need to export the users and groups (separately) and open it in Excel and combine it somehow.

The other issue is a way to do multiple adjustments at once. Currently you need to modify each user separately.

If you want to adapt a specific setting for x users, again you need to export it and do it in a third party tool.

Can you please provide specific details of why you find it difficult to track users and groups in PAW? The Admin area of the Planning Analytics Workspace was updated in late 2020 to significantly improve the user and group experience. What functionality or capabilities are missing to make user management easier?

Also, if this is specific to TM1 database users and groups please make sure you are familiar with this functionality: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=wnim2-manage-users-groups-planning-analytics-database-cloud-only-1. While this functionality is cloud only for now (also applies to PA SaaS on AWS) it will be implement for PA on premises for some security configurations.
