Security issue in PAW shared folder

Hi Team,

In order to provide the analysts and modelers access to create Applications and Plans in PAW interface, we have created a PAW security group “Applications and Plans” to which all the required users are added and we have given Edit only access to this group in the Shared folder in Reports and Analysis section as a workaround.

This provides the users who are part of the “Applications and Plans” security group the Edit access to the Shared folder in Reports and Analysis section and they are able to create the workbooks in shared folder.

Idea or improvement here is that the users can only create the workbooks in their respective instance folder not under shared folder directly and restrict to create under direct shared folder. It creates a mess in terms of long list and then we have to manually move those workbooks into their respective solutions folders. To avoid such issues and manual maintenance tasks we are expecting some optimal solution to be incorporate in product.

Hoping to have something related to this in future releases.

    We are not going to support books in the personal folder being used in Plans and Applications. However, we are going to support Plans and Applications being created and moved to folders that is sub-folders of the shared folder. Note that you don't need to give users edit access to the root of the shared folder, just a sub-folder in the shared folder.
