Was a long time on-premise user of CA, and TM1, and years ago transitioned to being a happy user of CAoC, and PAoC. It would be great have the IBM Planning Analytics development team include in PAW the functionality to import Groups from CAoC into TM1, mirroring as closely as possible the functionality traditionally provided in Rich Tier/Architect. Our organization creates groups in CAoC, imports our user's profiles from Active Directory into these groups, and then imports these groups into TM1, where we apply, in our case, security on our company hierarchy, mirrored in a dimension. This is an integral part of how we manage PA/TM1 security, as well as the security of many of our CAoC reports that are based on cubes from our PAoC model.
We would like to have the possibility to manage user and groups for PAW in Active Directory and/or in Cognos like we can do in TM1.
Updated status to future consideration.
We are planning enhancements that will allow users and groups to be imported from a TM1 database (when the TM1 database is used for authentication with Planning Analytics Workspace local) to Planning Analytics Workspace. This will help support environments where the list of users in the TM1 database is being used as the authentication source and there is already management of the users and groups from TM1 (e.g TI processed being used to update users and groups in TM1).
We are also looking at options to import users and groups from Cognos Analytics, using the modern Cognos Analytics API, to Planning Analytics Workspace.
