No wonder I used to always wonder what that setting is doing under Visualisation and I agree having it within Conditional Format diaglog box would avoid the confusion. Thanks.

You can already change the color palette for conditional formatting. This is done from the cube viewer properties. See attached screenshot:
I think it's a bit easy to miss this feature as it needs to be adjusted form the properties panel instead of the user interface where you are setting the conditional formats. I think we should consider an enhancement that makes changing the palette possible while setting the format.
The palette creation interface is in Planning Analytics Administration and supports the selection of custom colors.
