export data as text from PAW

Hi there, I believe that there has been another idea that suggests having the Export ASCII data as text in PAX and I have voted on that. If PAX is not possible then what about having this functionality of EXPORT data as text from PAW?

This is very useful as administrators as and when I have users who require a backup or historical data from 1 or 2 months ago that they did ( perhaps the data was corrupted in some form or manner) and they wish for me to take from our backup OR from our archive cube ( if the data they need is from prior years). Going through transaction log is too tedious and backing out is not a practical option to do. Also, we dont keep the transaction logs in TM1 for YEARS , due to the limitation of storage, we only keep for the past 2 to 3 months after which we delete them.

The fastest way right now is for me to take the DB from my backup and fire it up in my development env with no rules so that it comes up within a minute or less.

I will then save a view at the lowest leaf level for all dims ( with the specific year period etc as per request), export as ASCII text data. In my production, I have a CellputN TI to put back this archival data into the production cube. I can do this in less than 20 minutes depending on the volume of data being processed. I also don't have to bring down my production in order to fire up the archived or historical cube. Especially if the request is urgent.

However I notice that in PAW and PAX there is no export as text functionality. How am I going to do a data restore quickly in the future when Architect is taken away and I cannot retrieve the leaf level in text form quickly for a restore?

Please note that I have had requests ( due to management or country or global) from country to put back data from 2019 after we have archived it somewhere else. So it's not a small amount of data to put back.

Please put this functionality back as we need this to support our internal customers quickly when time is of the essence.

Planned for release in Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.99. This feature will be added to the modeling workbench and accessed through the database tree. However, we will also consider adding the export to text option to the cube viewer as well for support in PAfE with the cube viewer.
