The cube viewer in Workspace does not work the same way as in Architect. Workspace uses pagination to limit the amount of data pulled from TM1 Server when the view is opened. Scrolling in the Workspace cube viewer will load more rows and columns. This limits the amount of memory required to examine and manipulate the view in Workspace.
