Problem Statement:
In the Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), users are encountering an issue when selecting options from a drop-down menu in an input cube with the picklist enabled. The drop-down list displays a default element labeled “None”. This is not desired by the business, as they would prefer this entry to appear as a blank space rather than displaying “None.”
We have already contacted IBM Support, and they confirmed that there is no current option to rename or modify the “None” element. IBM Support advised reaching out to the IBM Development Team to explore possible solutions or changes to this behavior.
Business Concern:
The business has expressed that the “None” label in the drop-down is misleading and could cause confusion for end users. The preference is to have the blank entry appear instead of “None” to maintain clarity in the user interface and enhance the user experience. This change is important to align with the business’s functional and aesthetic expectations.
Next Steps for IBM Development Team:
Priority Request: We request that the IBM Development Team consider this issue as a priority, as it directly impacts the user experience in PAW.
Change Request: We would like IBM Development to explore the possibility of allowing the "None" element in the drop-down to be either removed or replaced with a blank space, as requested by the business.
Confirmation of Feasibility: We seek confirmation from IBM Development on whether this change can be implemented in a future release or if a workaround can be provided to meet business requirements.
Timeline: We would appreciate guidance on the estimated timeline for addressing this request, as it is important for our ongoing project and user acceptance.
