In Architect the Cubeoptimizer window contained an automatic suggestion of re-order for the dimensions in an existing cube.
In PAW this option is not available. There is only the possibility to re-arrange dimensions by trial and error, which is a deterioration in comparison to the "old" clients.

Is there any best practice how to test the performance of rendering views in dependence of the dimension order?
Because ordering the dimension in alignment to the theoretical rules (dense/sparse, small/large) not always leads to the most efficient dimension ordering I had to realize in the past. But a cube with 10 dimensions for example would have 3.6 m possible orderings, which can't be tested randomly of course.
In this case Architect gave at least a hint how to find a better ordering than the current one (although it was not the optimum, admittedly).
Any suggestions how this could be achieved in future?
Thank you very much in advance!
This idea is not under consideration. The automatic reorder dimension feature in Architect is simply guessing the best order of dimensions in the cube. The order of dimensions should be determined based on testing performance of rendering views in that cube. Architect only provided an approximation of the memory difference. It is not possible to accurately measure how much memory a cube and views are really using. Architect does not consider view performance which is likely the more important objective when reording dimensions.
