Planning Analytics Workspace backup not returning error exit code

Problem Description

It seems that the PAW backup.ps1 utility generates a success exit code (0) even when the backup fails.

For example, if the PowerShell command is unable to complete a backup because its file size limitation has been reached, a “Stream was too long” error message is displayed on the screen, but backup.ps1 still exits with a success code (0), rather than an error code (1).

This means that when backup.ps1 is incorporated into a scheduler, the scheduler proceeds as if the backup has been a success, even when it has not.

Proposed Solution

It is requested that the backup.ps1 script be amended so that any errors are trapped, and an appropriate non-success exit code is returned.
