Planning Analytics Workspace object sizes

Problem Description

There is currently a maximum size to the content the PAW backup.ps1 script can manage. If the PAW container databases exceed this maximum size, then the backup.ps1 script fails.

Currently there does not seem to be a way to determine from the PAW browser client, whether the 2GB limit is being approached, or has been exceed. And what would be the most effective remedial action to take. The only way seems to be to log onto the server, and monitor the container file sizes.

There also does not seem to be a way to identify large books, so that they can be amended or deleted.

Proposed Solution

It is requested:

  1. In PAW Administration, provide a display of PAW container sizes. And highlight any that run the risk of not being backed up by backup.ps1.

  2. In PAW Administration Lifecycle Management, as well as displaying the date of a snapshot, also display its size. (Please note, this is different to a count of its contents.)

  3. In PAW Reports and Analysis, as well as displaying a book/folder name and “Last modified” date, also display its size.

  4. Provide a sort facility that allows books to be sorted in size order.

  5. Provide a sort facility that allows files uploaded into PAW Applications and Plans to be sorted in size order.
