RELATED IDEAS

PAW Security for instances

As both a developer and a user, I would like to see only relevant instances displayed in the side panel of PAW.

However, I do not want to have to manually select the instances I wish to view.

Instead, I would prefer that this be managed by an administrator, similar to the functionality available in MS SQL Management Studio.


Proposed Solution: Enhance PAW's security features by allowing to add instances to user groups.

    Would also like this for several implementations on v11. It could even be defaulting certain databases to "hidden" in the PAW settings.

    I have accepted this enhancement request. The IBM Planning Analytics team will target this capability for Planning Analytics offerings using the newer TM1 v12 database. TM1 v12 database provides instance level access where security access could potentially be controlled. There are no current plans to enhance the TM1 Admin service in v11 to support access control.

    We have around 50 instances running at Bosch on one server. It would be great if you could implement this for us.
