Is this in the pipeline?
The ability the schedule a restart using Planning Analytics Administration would be incredibly handy. Currently I perform this task weekly to clean up memory usage.
Hi Stuart - has there been any progress on this? I know we can shutdown the instance by running the ServerShutdown() function in a TI. Can this function be combined with the current monitors that IBM has on the cloud to check for running instances (and the subsequent start of them if they are down)? Or the latter only works when the server shutdown was not executed properly (i.e.: a server crash)?
This is not something that we will enable through Cognos Command Center. IBM may consider using a self service feature through Planning Analytics Administration to schedule a restart of the TM1 database services. No ETA. Will remain open as future consideration.
Stuart it would be beneficial to not just restart but stop and start at specific times. Cognos Command Center has lost the ability to stop and start a service on the PA cloud because IBM is not willing to grant ADMIN access to the tm1_automation user. Also IBM can only restart not start and stop a specific times with windows scheduler. We need to be able to stop a service , zip existing data files, copy new data files from PROD, and start the service again. thanks
IBM is currently evaluating how this might be implemented.
