Assuming native means the static/default views created in Architect/Perspective. I agree the variable name is the order of dimensions in the cube but in the screenshot Preview Title column align with the dimension order name but if you see the Variable Name column things are not aligned properly. So, what is that column mean and why it is not aligned with the Preview Title.
I can confirm that those view is not resaved back to tm1 as an MDX view and we are only using the default view which was created in the Architecy/Perspective before.
Assuming the data source views is still a native view, then the order of variables is the order of dimensions in the cube. This is the same for both Perspectives and PAW (when using native views). The screenshot you are taking after clicking the 'Preview' button shows the correct behaviour.
Are you 100% sure the view wasn't resaved back to TM1 as an MDX view? It wasn't until very recent versions of PAW where we added support for saving a view from PAW back to TM1 as MDX or native. The view icons on the database tree are different for native and MDX views. You should also notice that once the view is saved as MDX it cannot be seen in Architect\Perspectives anymore.
Hello Stuart
It seems there has been a misunderstanding regarding the issue. We are not generating any new views in PAW; rather, we are utilizing only the default view that was employed in the perspective. We are applying the same view in PAW, and upon clicking the preview tab, we notice that the values for Preview title, Sample data, and Variable name are not aligned correctly. I am attaching a screenshot for your reference. We have not altered anything in the process while accessing the TI in PAW.
This is not a defect and there is no plan to change how variables in TI processes work. The variable order has not changed between clients (Perspectives and Workspace) for native views. Please see: https://www.ibm.com/docs/ru/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=source-define-cube-view-data. Step 7 contains the infomration you are missing.
