Rules Editor for PAfE

Dear Product Management Team,

I would like to propose adding a Rules Editor to IBM Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE), as this feature would significantly enhance the user experience for many of our team members.

Many users who have worked extensively with Perspectives rely on its ability to edit rules and TurboIntegrator (TI) processes directly within the application. The absence of this functionality in PAfE requires users to switch to Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), which disrupts workflows and reduces efficiency. By integrating a Rules Editor into PAfE, users could edit rules seamlessly within the same interface, for example, when noticing miscalculated key figures in a report.

To accommodate diverse user needs, it would be valuable to make this feature optional, allowing administrators to enable or disable it via a parameter in the tm1s.cfg configuration file. This would provide flexibility, for instance, by enabling the Rules Editor for backend administrators while restricting access for other user groups if needed.

    This idea is not under consideration. The idea can continue to accumulate votes and the IBM Planning Analytics product team may reevaluate the idea at a later date.

    We are not planning on adding support for the modeling functions in Planning Analytics for Excel in the near term. We might reevaluate this request at a later date (e.g 2H 2026).
