Enhance Copy-Paste Functionality from Excel to TM1 Web/PAW to Transfer Full Underlying Decimal Values Regardless of Display Formatting

Dear team,


When copying values from Excel (via PAfE) to TM1 Web/PAW, if decimals are hidden via formatting, only the visible integer is pasted (e.g., underlying 3.56 displays as 4 and pastes as 4). This loses precision, unlike Excel-to-Excel behavior where full values transfer.

Confirmed by IBM Support as longstanding; workaround is double-clicking cells or macros, but inefficient.

Differentiation from Prior Ideas: Unlike the 2019 "Copy\Paste from other sources into PAW Websheet" (declined due to no browser add-in), this targets precision loss in supported paste operations, noted as working in PAW crosstabs per 2020 comments.

Use Case: Critical for financial/analytical workflows where hidden decimals aid reporting but precise data is needed in PAW, causing errors in bulk transfers.

Reproduction: Excel cell with 3.54 formatted to show 4; copy-paste to PAW yields 4. Visible decimals paste correctly. Tested in PA v11/v12.

Proposed Enhancement: Enable transfer of full underlying values from clipboard, aligning with Excel norms via improved integration.

Benefits: Boosts data accuracy, user efficiency, and tool interoperability for enterprise users.
