Increase Width of Search/Replace Input Fields in PAW Rules Editor and Process Editor Find/Replace Dialog (Better Space Utilization)

Idea Summary / Business Case:
In IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), the Find/Replace dialog (opened via Ctrl+F in Rules Editor or TurboIntegrator Process Editor) uses extremely narrow, fixed-width input fields for "Find" and "Replace". Even though the dialog window itself has plenty of horizontal space available, only a small portion is used for the text inputs. This causes frequent truncation or horizontal scrolling inside the fields when entering typical long search terms (e.g., rule or TI names like "CubeDataReservationAcquire" or complex TI code snippets).

This poor space utilization significantly slows down rule development, debugging, and TI process editing – especially with large rulesets or scripts – leading to reduced developer productivity and increased frustration.

Expected Benefit:

Making the input fields wider by default (e.g., utilizing 70-90% of the available dialog width) or implementing dynamic/auto-resizing would greatly improve readability, reduce scrolling/editing overhead, and speed up common workflows in complex Planning Analytics models.

Environment:

• Planning Analytics versions: 2.0.x (v11) and 3.x (v12+) – no change observed across releases

• Component: Planning Analytics Workspace – Rules Editor & Process Editor Find/Replace Dialog

• Browsers: Chrome, Edge (tested)

• OS: Windows, Linux

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open PAW and navigate to a cube's Rules Editor or a TI Process Editor.

2. Press Ctrl+F to open the Find dialog (or Find/Replace).

3. Observe the "Find" and "Replace" input fields: They are very narrow and fixed, even though the overall dialog has significant unused horizontal space to the right/left.

4. Enter a long search term, e.g., "CubeDataReservationAcquire". → Text truncates or requires horizontal scrolling inside the tiny field, despite ample dialog width available.

Actual Behavior:
Input fields remain narrow and fixed-width, wasting available horizontal space in the dialog window. No adaptation to content length or dialog size.

Expected Behavior:

• Significantly wider default width for the input fields (e.g., stretch to fill most of the available dialog width, similar to modern IDE find dialogs).

• Ideally: Auto-resize dynamically based on entered text length (up to a reasonable max) or make fields flexible/responsive within the dialog layout.

Versions affected:
All recent PAW releases (persistent issue from v2.0 to current v3.x).

This is a straightforward, high-impact UX improvement for all developers working with rules and TI processes. Please consider prioritizing it to enhance modeling efficiency.
