Enhancement For Chore Security to Allow Parameter Editing Without Process Modification

Current Feature:

In IBM Planning Analytics, the existing administrative chore security roles typically offer two main permission levels with respect to chores:

  • Read: Allows users to view chore details but not make any changes.
  • None: No access to the chore.

However, there is no granular permission to allow users to edit chore parameters only, without granting them the ability to modify or edit the underlying chore parameter.

Proposed Enhancement:

Introduce a new security permission level within the chore security  that allows:

  • Write access limited only to chore parameters — Users can edit and save parameter values for processes within the chores.
  • Restricted process modification — Users shouldn't be able to  change the chore definition, chore sequence, or process steps themselves.

This idea is not under consideration. The IBM Planning Analytics team is not planning changes to the chores feature in TM1. We may consider automation and scheduling capabilities outside of TM1 that can be used to orchestrate activity in Workspace and TM1 databases in future releases.
