MDX Snippets to be supported

Just like with TI Snippets, developers often times have a repository of MDX snippets that they use when building sets and views.

Being able to upload these snippets and use them in a similar fashion to TI snippets would be very useful.

    This idea is not under consideration. We can add the MDX function list to the set editor, but parameterized snippets is not something we planning to invest in. Our goal to improve the functionality of the set editor is to generate a broad range of MDX patterns based on intuitive user actions in the set editor. This includes support for comparison to cell values in cubes that share the dimension the set MDX is being created for.

    Clarification is needed: If MDX snippets would be only shown in Workbench in Set editor, would it work for the majority of the cases - the Modeler working with the MDX code?

    Where you have a snippet like the below, not only being able to store and retrieve the snippet but having the user be able to pick the dim, hier and rollup and have these update the snippet before inserting it would be a really time-saver:

    GENERATE(
    FILTER(
    {DESCENDANTS({[<dim>].[<hier>].[<rollup>]})},
    COUNT(
    {INTERSECT(
    {DESCENDANTS({[<dim>].[<hier>].[<rollup>]})},
    {[<dim>].[<hier>].CurrentMember},
    ALL)}
    )>1
    ),
    {[<dim>].[<hier>].CurrentMember.Parent})
