Backup capability for additional PAW front-end components via API to complete a full recovery set when added to back-end database backup

Currently, nightly backups of the TM1 database are scheduled in PA and can be downloaded. An enhancement is expected to be delivered toward the end of 2026 to extend this and enable an API interface so that further automation can be achieved to meet financial, legal and regulatory requirements beyond the 30 days that automated backups remain available via PAW, and assist with automation of a backup strategy to external S3 buckets, tools such as Comvault, etc. Although this will enable integrations and programmatic control/scheduling via TI or other tools to call the API, it only takes care of the back-end of the ability to restore a point in time copy and fully recover.

Following a recent case to recover a tenant, it has become clear that fully backing up and enabling complete technical recovery of an environment requires more than the database backup contained in the .tar.gz files. While this backup supports recovery of the back-end TM1 database, restoring full functionality also requires a front-end export/snapshot, as well as exports of PAW users and PAW groups. I understand that these three front-end components may not be included in the backup API being delivered later in the year and there is no current way to schedule/automate the front-end and PAW users and PAW groups that are needed to fully restore the environment.
