Allow the Workbench View Switcher to be resized so full View names are visible

Description

When the View Switcher is enabled in the Planning Analytics Workspace Workbench, long View names are truncated and cannot be displayed completely within the available field.

The View Switcher is the dropdown that lists the available Views for the current cube/widget in the Workbench.

The full View name is only visible when hovering over the field with the mouse.

Currently, there is no option to resize or widen the View Switcher field to display the complete View name.

This becomes particularly inconvenient when multiple Views have long or similar names, as users cannot reliably distinguish them without hovering over each entry.

Suggested enhancement

Allow the user to manually resize the width of the Workbench View Switcher so that longer View names can be displayed completely.

If a free resize is not feasible, an auto-width based on the longest loaded View name, with a reasonable maximum width, would also address the issue.

Expected behavior

• The user can widen the View Switcher so that the View name is not truncated, provided sufficient space is available in the Workbench.

• Truncation remains only when the View name is still longer than the resized field.

• The manual resize should ideally be remembered for the user/session.

• Hover/tooltip can remain available as a fallback, but should not be required to distinguish Views with long or similar names.

Scope

Workbench View Switcher only.

This idea does not cover Action Button pickers or other generic PAW comboboxes.

• Full View names can be displayed without requiring mouseover.

• Views with long or similar names can be distinguished more easily.

• Users have more control over their Workbench layout.

• Provides a more usable and predictable View selection experience.
