RELATED IDEAS

ODBCOpen with Encyripted DB Password

We need to push data from TM1 to Oracle database using ODBCOpen command. However this command requires database password to be captured in clear text. This is not acceptable by bank security policies. We need a solution to this problem with TM1.

    Dear Stuart,

    What is meant by "modern ETL services"? Does that mean any new tools that will require additional licenses or tools that are not covered by some of the existing licenses but covered by new license types? Or does it mean dependency on third party ETL or programming tools?

    Does this also mean less ETL capability for Turbo Integrator in the futures?

    This idea is currently not under consideration. The idea can continue to receive votes and the IBM Planning Analytics team may reevaluate the idea at a later date.

    It is planned to provide new API endpoints for TM1 Server that will allow TM1 cubes to be used as a data source by modern ETL services. Our strategy for data movement to relational data sources and between TM1 models is based on integration with ETL services.

    Meanwhile, I'd like to recommend calling a python script combined with TM1py library to do the job.
