PAW Synchronise Action Button parameters with Sheet Selections

This has already been requested by four different people:

Aug-2019 PAOP-I-490 59 Votes

Oct 2019 PAOP-I-530 10 Votes

Nov 2019 PAOC-I-77 4 Votes

May 2020 PAOC-I-77 4 Votes

TOTAL 77 Votes

From browsing the list of requests, this means that this request has more votes than any other request, yet it has not even reached the planned stage.

This is absolutely critical. We are not going to even start evaluating PAW until this functionality is provided.

At present a user typically will select a cost centre, account, time period etc, review a report, and then decide to take further action, typically by clicking an Action Button, that will run a process to update workflow cubes, perhaps transfer the data to another cube, or perform a calculation on the data, build a dimension, etc.

It is clearly a very poor user experience to have to then reselect the same cost centre, account and time period that they already selected when they click the Action Button. It is also potentially error prone, and users will inevitably review the figures for one cost centre and then end up running the process from the Action Button for a different cost centre.

Good to hear that this is one of the highest priority items. Assuming you are following some sort of Agile approach, when is this likely to go from the backlog to actually be in development? Do you have any idea as to how long the development will take before this is actually released, (a) On Cloud (b) On-Premises ?

Synchronise PAW Action Button Process Parameters with Sheet Context

Merged
It would be helpful to be able to synchronise the process parameters supplied to a process by an action button with the context of the sheet in which the button is located. Example: a sheet where the user selects a plan version and reporting unit ...
