This idea is no longer under consideration. We are still planning on creating new ODATA endpoints for use by ETL services.
Changed status of Idea to 'Under review'. Although we are not planning on adding support for JDBC or other data sources directly into TM1 (for use with TI processes) we are looking at better support for ETL tools that can leverage a wider range of data sources. This will likely require new ODATA API endpoints in TM1 for loading and extracting leaf level values.
This would be extremely useful as there are many interface requirements nowadays e.g. to SAP and other web services where reading SOAP, XML etc. would reduce dependencies on 3rd parties, 3rd party tools, middleware etc. etc.
You could use the REST API to accomplish the interfacing but this requires additional development, orchestration etc. etc.
A direct datasource would definitely add huge value to the product.
