Sandbox needs to be more than just a layer

Although there are Forecast rules, there's a need to have sandboxes that are impacted by actuals. If I want to do my own forecast using actual data as well as a sandbox of my personal proposed sandbox, there should be a function that allows the sandbox to be updated as actuals come in rather than updating the existing forecast or starting fresh with a new sandbox. The sandbox is currently just fixed values laying on top of the existing forecast rules, which is inflexible and the sandbox values cannot be zeroed out without removing the entire sandbox. For example, I have a sandbox where each month after November is $500 for an account. Once we have actuals for November, I would like to have the $500 put in the sandbox for November to be replaced by the base number (which would be the actual). Additionally, if there is a planned project for January but it's pushed up to November but our current actual month is September, it would be good to see the fall out of that in a sandbox before deciding to move the project up.

    No intent to allow for rules that are specific to a sandbox. Please consider the use of a versions dimension that allow for different rule logic between versions. This sort of enhancement would impact the performance characteristics of the sandbox feature. Changed status to 'Not under consideration'.
