We have just moved from TM1 10.2.2 to Planning Analytics Cloud (PA), and have 100+ users all using Planning Analytics for Excel (PA).
Like most large companies, our business uses a number of BI tools and Databasing Tools. Therefore many reporting/Analysis tasks rely on getting at full leaf level data.
In 10.2.2 using TM1 server explorer through Perspectives, you could right click on a cube and export a view to text file (ASCII output). This allows the users to export large data sets to text file without over utilising the memory on the server.
In Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE) there is no equivalent way of doing this, and some of the views that users are extracting to get full granularity are just to big for PA and PAfE to cope with.
We've tried writing a TI to do this but as TI works as Admin, it will not export Private Views/subsets.
Therefore I believe this functionality should be added to PAfE as it IS available through RDP (in perspectives), to allow users rather than just Admins to this functionality.

I would also like to note that the Perspectives/Architect export functionality could use resources on the TM1 Server depends on the view. Values still need to be calculated (rule derived cells and consolidations) if they existed on the view. This always happens regardless of how the data is exported from the TM1 model.
Updated status to future consideration. Although this idea will not be implemented as part of the IBM Planning Analytics 2021 roadmap we would like to keep the idea open for votes. This is an area of product functionality that we may reevaluate at a later date (beyond 2021).
