Ability to Copy a Dimension from Dimension Editor in PAW

In Architect, you can open the dimension editor for an existing dimension, click 'Dimension', 'Save As' and give the dimension a new name. In effect this copies the dimension and its element structure. In Planning Analytics Workspace, you can't do this. To copy a dimension you have to recreate it from scratch again. I would like to have the option to copy the attributes with it.


I will use this to create dimensions which are a variation of a theme with a slight difference. e.g. 'Weekly Wages Measures' dimension for a 'Weekly Wages' cube and then another called 'Monthly Wages Measures' for a 'Monthly Wages' cube. The monthly metrics are largely the same as the weekly ones but there are additional monthly metrics. I don't want to share the same measures dimension as I only want metric relevant to each cube in there. Its best practice to have a unique measures dimension for each cube. I model in 95% of the time in PAW, but there are small cases like this where I save time by jumping back into Architect.

    Changes status to 'Not Under Consideration'. Duplicating a dimension is not supported through the TM1 Servers ODATA API. While this sort of ODATA endpoint might be helpful in some cases it's not something that we are going to prioritize at this point.

    One option might be to create a generic TI script for duplicating a dimension.
