ICIS New functions for SAP BW/4HANA integration

Hello!

We use IBM Cognos Integration Server to integrate SAP BW with IBM Planning Analytics solution. Now our company upgrades SAP BW to SAP BW/4HANA, but we still need this integration. We use SAP BW Infoquery objects to extract data but with newer SAP BW version this approach is under threat.

With new version of SAP BW/4HANA classic function "RSRD_MS_GET_VARIABLE_DEF" that Cognos Integration Server uses to get infoquery variables is no longer available. So we can't get the list of variables and set them.

The only solution is to implement another function, "BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_VARIABLES" to do this.

So we ask IBM to add "BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_VARIABLES" function to get variables of SAP BW/4HANA infoquery sources.

    IBM is no longer considering enhancement for Cognos Integration Server. Our focus has shifted to support for ETL tools with TM1 server.
