PAW - Share calculations between views

Today in TM1web cubeviewer, our users make extensive use of “create consolidation from a subset” feature which allows them to create consolidations that don’t exist within a hierarchy. Our application does have a central Referential team that manages key analytical dimensions such as Business Unit, Products, Customers etc… These hierarchies are managed to create a central-level coherent reading of the data. However due to local needs that won’t benefit the group as a whole, there’s a strong need to create user-defined calculations. These UDCs can be easily shared between views through the “create consolidation from a subset” feature.

The issue today with transitioning to PAW is that user defined calculations are stored within a PAW view which forces users to recreate the calculation for each view (whereas TM1web could store them as a subset for easy sharing between views). With an average of a 100 views per user this would mean significant time loss when creating/updating a frequently used calculation.

    This idea is not under consideration at this time. There is no plan to make sets (including sets with calculations) sharable between views within the next 18 months. The Planning Analytics team will reevaluate this idea in 2H 2022.
