Custom Consolidation (aka Rollup, User-Defined Consolidation) is a relatively common practice for business analyst to do ad hoc analysis, detail of how to create custom consolidation can refer to this documentation:
However, this custom consolidation, although it is possible to create on TM1Web, normal cube views, DBRW are working perfectly, and we can also able to use this custom consolidation to add up numbers of the selected elements on a slice, but if we are using it on a relatively complicated Websheet (Active Form) and having MDX to reference this Custom Consolidation, MDX is not able to recognise the name even a simple {[Department].[}ROLLUP_2]} and therefore not able to perform the necessary analysis using Websheet.
MDX in today's Planning Analytics roadmap plays a huge role, not matter it is REST API, TM1py, PAW, etc are all using MDX underneath, therefore it is important to incorporate this feature to allow users to do analysis more easily.

MDX already supports Aggregate and other functions that can be used to define a custom consolidation. Consolidations can be based on existing subsets in TM1 using the TM1SubsetToSet function. The ability to create rollups (classic UDCs) in the TM1 Server will not be available in future releases of TM1 server that are ODATA only. Also, please consider that the classic UDC (ROLLUP) feature was scoped to the user and could not be shared the same way that Workspace MDX views can be shared. If we did support ROLLUP in MDX the MDX statement would only be usable by the user that created the MDX.
this would be a great feature if MDX can support }ROLLUP, please consider this!!
