Enable dropdown when the cell is locked/sheet is protected

When user wants to make a template for submission, they will go for additional security to lock the sheets and only allow the cells to be edited. This is done by locking the cells that are not meant for editing. Currently when this is applied the dropdown list will disappear. As per IBM support KB this is currently only possible when the sheet/cell is unprotected.

    Hi Stuart

    As Prashanth mentioned, he is referring to PAfE which IBM Support also agreed did not allow locking of particular cells as the dropdown would be affected. Please reconsider to include this feature in PAfE offline packs.

    Hi Stuart,

    The issue here is only with PaFe which is used for offline submission purpose. However IBM KB talks about TM1web which is understood as it uses a 3rd party tool. But in PaFe its just excel alone. We use the Data using excel add-in. So the locking of the cell should not affect the dropdowns according to us.


    Could you pls check if this is due inherent design consideration or this can be allowed. If locking the cell for excel security so that user do not amend the other cells does not work, what would be IBMs recommendations to customer. Appreciate your advise so that we can inform the customers about any workaround or solutions on this.
