This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data Platform organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Still strongly supporting this in 2026 – dynamic images synced with selectors, cube cells or dimension attributes remain one of the biggest missing features in PAW books for building truly interactive and visually rich dashboards.
To make the use case even clearer: The synchronization should allow images to change dynamically based on real-world selections, for example:
Per month/period: Show different seasonal product images, monthly performance visuals, historical photos or report-specific graphics when the user selects a different month via selector.
Per company/region/entity: Switch to the appropriate corporate logo, country flag, office photo, subsidiary branding or product variant image when selecting a different company/region.
Any other dimension-driven context: Department icons, customer-group visuals, project photos, currency-specific indicators (e.g., € vs. £ tiles) – all pulled from cube cells, alias attributes or calculated MDX strings.
This would make image widgets behave just like views, subtitles or titles do today: fully synced and adaptive to user selections – without manual intervention.
Current workarounds are still far from ideal and don't scale well:
Multiple static images + conditional visibility (only practical for very few variants)
Websheets with Excel IMAGE() function (loses native PAW feel, performance & layout issues)
Custom HTML widgets (too much dev effort, CORS problems, not low-code)
With recent PAW improvements (better MDX/global variables, widget syncing, copy-paste images etc.) this feels like low-hanging fruit that could be implemented relatively easily now.
Any chance this could move forward in the 2026 roadmap, or is there already partial support in newer releases (e.g. via MDX binding for image src) that I might have missed? An update from IBM on feasibility or timeline would be really appreciated!
Thanks for keeping the idea alive – voting and hoping for progress soon. This continues to be a high-value enhancement for corporate dashboards.

It is a big enabler that will allow for example to show product images along with the data
