Always log error message if TM1 suddenly crashes

Our TM1 server sometimes crashes without any additional information that can be found in the log file. The service just stops working which is visible in the windows event log. But in the TM1 server log no information is available (not which error occurred, even nothing that any error occurred). Support told me that this might happen in case of insufficient memory.

I would expect that in case there is no memory available any more it must be written to the log! It is a core non functional requirement for every product that error message are written to a log file! It is impossible to identify the root cause if there is no information available what went wrong.

This idea is currently not under consideration. We are not planning on building this functionality directly into TM1.

Consider the use of infrastructure tools that might detect and notify when the service crashes or restarts.

Set to future release. This may not be a function of the TM1 Server itself but rather a function of CP4D service management of management of the service in the IBM Cloud environment.

I agree. The logs are remarkable terse. If this is implemented, I also suggest the default mode to be the currentl level of logging, and an option in tm1s.cfg whatever to request a higher log level.
