Reference Support Ticket #: 14105124 / Recalc_0_0

Using PA for Excel, we notice the following issue when trying to edit a DBRW formula that pulls text from a source cube:

In Perspectives, we were able to F2 in the specific text cell (this would show the DBRW), then F9 would convert the DBRW to our text from the source cube and allow us to edit the text. In PAX, (with the DBRW formula in cell), F2 will allow us into the specific cell and show the DBRW, however F9 does not allow access to the text to edit. We see only “Recalc_0_0 ” and not our original source cube text as we did in Perspectives.

Do you have any work-around for this in PAX? Using Perspectives in Remote Desktop still works fine, however this is needed for our external business units utilizing PAX only.

(adding this for another customer and for clarifying this request)
"Give PAfE ability to evaluate specific parts of formula containing DBRW when typing F9, like TM1 Perspectives had"

    Description:

"There is a native feature in Excel, when editing a formula, which allows to evaluate a specific part of the formula by selecting that part and typing F9 key.

For example, if we type these formulas in Excel:

    In A1: 111

    In B1: =123+A1

    In C1: =456+A1

    In D1: =B1+C1

Then if we double-click D1 cell in order to edit the formula, and then we only select "B1" in that formula, then press F9 key, then "B1" is evaluated like this:

In D1 now we see: =234+C1

TM1 Perspectives was complying to this native Excel behaviour with no problem: it was possible to use this feature with DBRW formulas.

    For example, in Perspectives:

-we double-click on a formula that uses (for example) : DBRW(xxx)+DBRW(yyy)

-we select just DBRW(xxx) in the formula and type F9 => this evaluates this specific part of the formula without changing the rest of the formula.

Thanks to this feature, we can easily detect issues and correct a formula.

So we can see how useful was this Excel feature, actionable in Perspectives, that allows to debug complex formulas.

Now with Planning Analytics for Excel this is not possible anymore: instead of evaluating, it displays RECALC_x_x, which is an important loss of functionality.

    "
