Renaming an application should not break link to workbook in PAW

In order to utilize Workspace as a true self-service tool, my users will want to build out their own planning workspaces.  Sometimes, they will want to use direct cube entry while other times, they will want to use a standard template we've created for them.

For example, three tabs may consist of cube views and two tabs may consist of templates (applications).

As an admin, I may want to change the name of that template.  It could be for a number of reasons:

  • The template is mis-spelled and it's been sitting there incorrectly spelled for a year
  • Our report numbering system has changed and I need to change all the titles of the reports
  • The report name is too generic and I need to provide a better title for the report

If I change the name of that application, it will break the end-user's link to that template and their workspace will not render correctly.

We cannot roll out self-service capabilities without this functionality as we have far too many templates and far too many savvy users that will want to use the Workspace as IBM has designed it.  Although this problem also exists in TM1 Web, TM1 Web was not built as a self-service tool.
