Request for Product Enhancement – Low Latency Data Processing Capabilities in watsonx.data

The customer is currently using watsonx.data to support a high-partition, high-ingestion analytics platform. While the system is now stable after several patches and fixes, they are looking ahead to future enhancements that can meet their true low-latency requirements — particularly for real-time data streaming and decisioning.

Specifically, the customer is requesting a product enhancement or roadmap visibility regarding support for streaming and sub-second latency use cases, similar to what technologies like Apache Flink offer. These use cases involve:

- Real-time data processing and query execution

- Extremely low-latency responses (<1 second)

- High-volume, high-frequency operations with rapid snapshot creation

The customer would like to understand if watsonx.data will evolve to natively support such capabilities or if there are integrations planned with tools like Flink, or other real-time engines within the IBM data platform ecosystem.

We would appreciate any insight into the roadmap or potential feature plans that align with these performance expectations, as this will influence the customer’s long-term architectural decisions.
