Adding Statistical Metric to Computation Methods

Currently, the computation methods available within SP for profiling attributes is limited. For example, for calendar profiles all that is available is: average amount, frequency, total amount . Standard Deviation is available for this category of profiling attribute by activating it under General Setting.

However, Standard Deviation is not available for counter profiling attributes as well as popular percentiles such as 25th, 50th (median), 75th, 95th, 99th.

Currently, if the user needs to calculate the percentiles, they have to download the data, calculate the percentiles and then make a decision on how to tweak the rule. However, having these metrics available in SP will make calculations more efficient and faster. Also, having SD makes decisioning based on statistical ranges possible which is not currently possible. Last but not least, the analyst can monitor changes in percentiles overtime which is an indicator of the behavioral change of the customers and users.

All of the above, gives the analyst more tools to create more complex tools in order to create rules.
