This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data & AI organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
Shape the future of IBM!
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Search existing ideas
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

In multi-cluster scenarios, there should be no expectation that all the clusters are configured the same and/or support the same resources, slas, architectures, etc.
Currently, when launching jobs with -sla, -m, and other options, the local scheduler checks for the existence of the requested resource which forces submission clusters to be configured to match a remote cluster setup.
Goal should be to only check options against the selected destination cluster.
Two potential solutions exist to address the issue:
1) Local scheduler reviews all remote cluster configurations and then checks against the selected destination cluster configuration for matching resources. This is ideal solution as it could be used for appropriate cluster selection when using -cluster all or lists of clusters. If no matching resources exists at all listed clusters, then report error.
2) bsub simply forwards options to selected destination cluster and remote cluster will check options and error/run as appropriate. This solution suggests that the user must provide appropriate cluster targets that are aligned to resource needs.
Current issues:
Without this enhancement, running -m <host> for host selection cannot be done. (host@cluster also does not work). Likewise, remote clusters with different sla arrangements are forcing origin clusters to change configuration.
