Different signal(s) requested for job termination when the new Smart Cpu enforcement function terminates a job

The new Smart Cpu function (LSB_CPU_USAGE_ENF_CONTROL) in LSF issues a SIGXCPU to terminate jobs in violation of their cpu reservations. Instead we request LSF issue a soft kill followed by a hard kill. Something similar to SIGTERM followed by SIGKILL sometime later.

See PMR 48015,004,000 for more information,

As a work around we will set the application default core file size limit to 0 to prevent the core files from being created. Users will use the -C option of the bsub command when a core file is needed,

It also appears the SIGXCPU signal can be trapped. User applications should be able to trap the SIGXCPU and do their cleanup. This is no longer and issue for us.

We would still like the SIGXCPU signal changed at some point in the future, but setting the default core file size to 0 is an except-able work around for now.

Can you tell us how close we are to getting this Smart Cpu enforcement RFE request implemented?

As is, this function is unusable for our customers.

    Thank you,
    Marty
