PAC Upload and Download Limitation - (Increase file size)

System: Platform LSF - PAC
Actor: Users need to upload/download larger than 5GB files.

A big segment of our Engineers use a few applications that at times create fairly big input files (ie, Abaqus / Ansys). They use such input files to submit their jobs. However, due to the PAC limitation of upload/download up to 5GB files, many of our users are left without being able to submit their jobs to our HPC environment. At times, members of the system admin team manually submit such jobs through the command line for them. Since we recently implemented LSF (RTM, License Scheduler, and PAC) we would like for all our users to use this wonderful Portal for all their job submissions.

    The job files upload and donwload fine. The issue is that when one clicks submit, the job will not submit to LSF. I opened a case with IBM support before making this request and they mentioned that this was due to the file size limitation in PAC.

    There are two methods for uploading data files to PAC
    - http attachment(submission page) - this is subject to the 5GB limit in the http protocol.
    - Java applet (job details page) - this does not have a size limitation

    For files larger than 5GB the user will need to upload their file in the file browser, then select the uploaded file as part of the job submission.
