With out installing symphony binaries , we can make compute server with copying of entire compute working symphony directory

Hello IBM,

we make symphony compute server with out installing ibm symphony binaries with we can copy entire working symphony directory from working compute host.

copy bashrc and ssh keys then you can start the compute server with ego service

Ex:

compute1: /symphony/ibm/* has all folders and symphony files

compute 2: It is New server

rsync -avz compute1: /symphony compute2:/.

start the ego.service

pversions also fine and when we checked with IBM support , they also did not tested like this and advised to write suggestion on this portal.

Could you please test on your side and let us know pros and cons this type of installtion.

We can save a lot of time like installing and patch , config ...etc

Thanks
