Thank you for the detailed feedback and for clearly outlining the operational challenge.
At this time, we are marking this request for future consideration. There is currently no planned work in the StreamSets Platform roadmap related to enhancements of job status handling or additional job state–based notifications.
That said, we do recognize the value of a failsafe notification mechanism that would alert users when a job remains in transitional states such as Activating or Deactivating beyond an expected amount of time. A potential improvement would be the introduction of a job status timeout–based notification, where alerts are only triggered if a job exceeds a configurable duration in a given state, avoiding noise from normal state transitions.
We appreciate you raising this use case, as it helps inform future discussions around job observability and alerting improvements.
Hello, Any update on this please? Customer was told about the rate limit imposed on na02 orgs. They are going over the limit occasionally because they have to run an SDK script to detect stuck jobs, since this feature is not available.
The IDEA is marked as "Need more information", I've sent over a detailed email ( on 01/07) with the background of this. please let me know if anything more is needed.
As part of support case TS018754425, an SDK script was given to the customer to alleviate the problem. But they need a long term solution. Please let me know what additional information is needed to take up this idea.
Any update on this idea, please? Customer has been following up for timeline for this.
Hello, do we have any update on this idea, please? Support has given an SDK script as a workaround to find out jobs that are stuck, but customer has been asking for progress on this.
