Setting to not offer public tables when importing data from a database

This issue is also described here:

https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/464796/list-of-tables-when-importing-from-oracle-database.html

This might only concern Oracle databases, but possibly others as well.

In SPSS one can import data from a database. One of the first steps is to select the table or view to read from.
This list of tables/views includes public tables/views, ie granted to PUBLIC (any current and future user).
If there are applications installed in the database the list of public tables/view can be large.

A side-note: the query used by SPSS to find all tables/views available to the user varies depending on the odbc-driver used.
When using an Oracle odbc driver it's possible to modify the database for the connecting user so that public tables are excluded. When using the IBM Wire Protocol driver the query is different and cant be "fixed".

As public tables are sometimes (typically?) not interesting for the user, it would be good if there was a setting in SPSS to ignore them when listing available tables.

You can bring data from one Access database into another in many ways. Copying and pasting is the simplest method, but importing and linking offer you better control and flexibility over the data that you bring, and over how you bring that data into the destination database.

The file format can be either MDB or ACCDB. If the file is in MDE or ACCDE format, you'll only be able to import tables and queries through other Access databases. You can't import forms, reports, macros, and modules into an MDE or ACCDE file.
