Self-Healing for Hadoop Add-on Services

we observed that Hadoop Addon for Cloudera was unstable and it was crashing time to time. This tool is not highly available and can’t recover from crash. Each time this service crashed, there is a need for manual intervention by Hadoop administrator team to start this service again ( this mean creating a ticket to the team and few days of time to get it fixed depending on the availability of the administrator . In these few days data scientists can’t work with this tool. ). We need this tool to be self-healing and recovering from crash.

Some clarification on  non functional requirements for Hadoop Addon:

  •  Each component in this integration solution  must be highly available
  •  Each component need to be self healing ( Current Cloudera Integration solution can't recover itself without having a manual intervention from someone who has root access )
  •  Containerized components/microservice based solution with a load balancer
  • Components configurations must be easily configurable ( e.g., ability to set appropriate Hadoop yarn queue etc. )
  •  Components logs, job history, user activity logs need to be available in /for MapR logging / OpenShift logging system.
  • The solution need to be easy to install, maintain and monitor.
