Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Input Japanese language in the search bar on the catalog

>Idea Details:

Normally, when Japanese people input "Kanji", input "Hiragana" at first with not confirmed status, after that convert it to "Kanji" using SPACE key.

At last press ENTER key, the conversion is confirmed.

<Steps>

1. input "Hiragana" using keyboard. -> not confirmed status at this time

2. convert it to "Kanji" using SPACE key. -> not confirmed status at this time

3. press ENTER key, the conversion is confirmed. -> confirmed status

This problem is that when we input the "Hiragana" at first in the search bar on the catalog, it is confirmed automatically.

So as the result, we can't convert "Hiragana" to "Kanji".

(JP)通常、日本人が「漢字」を入力する場合、最初は「ひらがな」を未確定の状態で入力し、その後、SPACEキーで「漢字」に変換します。

最後にENTERキーを押すと、変換が確定します。

<ステップ

1. キーボードで「ひらがな」を入力する。 -> この時点では確定していません。

2. SPACEキーで "Kanji "に変換する。 -> この時点では確認されていません。

3. ENTERキーを押すと、変換が確定します。 -> 確定状態

この問題は、最初に「ひらがな」をカタログの検索バーで入力したときに、自動的に確定されてしまうことです。

その結果、「ひらがな」から「漢字」への変換ができなくなります。

Normally, all of Japanese people use Japanese language also on system.

But we can't use Japanese language simply in the search bar on the catalog now.

    I opened a new case as CS2237620.

    The purpose of this case is to get this problem fixed as a bug, not a request for improvement.

    The following is my environment.

    - OS and version

    Windows10 Pro 2004 64bit (Build 19041.867)


    - Browser and version

    Chrome: 89.0.4389.90 64bit

    ->problem occured

    Firefox: 86.0.1 64bit

    ->problem not occured

    Yes, I hit this problem using search bar in catalog.

    >What about the search input in business glossary, such as search for business terms from the Terms page?

    There are no problem in other place, for example business glossary.

    And I found that when I and customer use chrome browser on Windows PC, this problem occured.

    But when I use firefox browser on Windows PC, we can resolve this problem.
